Call2Recycle is Powering Up Battery Recycling in the District:
All Household Batteries Can Now be Safely Recycled Across DC.

With the new DC Battery Disposal Ban in place, primary and rechargeable batteries are prohibited from being tossed in the garbage and must be properly recycled.

The good news: with Call2Recycle, recycling your household batteries has never been easier.

Call2Recycle is proud to serve as the approved battery stewardship organization in the District by offering recycling for all household batteries.

Thanks for joining us in responsibly recycling your household batteries and doing something good for the District–and the planet!

Recycling your batteries is as simple as 1-2-3.

Store your household batteries in a cool, dry place – ideally in a plastic container.

Make sure to bag or tape your batteries! Either place individual batteries in clear plastic bags or tape the battery terminals with clear packing, non-conductive electrical, or duct tape, keeping the label visible.

Make battery recycling part of your monthly routine with drops to a nearby collection site, which you can find on our locator.
